Deborah Rutherford

Paralegal

Deborah Rutherford was born and raised in Fairhope, Alabama.  She graduated from Fairhope High in 1984 and continued her education at Huffstetler College, receiving her legal secretary degree in 1988. In 1992, she graduated from Phillips Junior College with an Associate of Science degree in Legal Administrative Assisting.

As an estates Paralegal, she meets with clients, and assists with the preparation of estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, trusts, probates wills, and prepares deeds.

Deborah is deeply involved in professional organizations. She helped charter the Baldwin County Association of Legal Professionals in 1991 and has served in every office and on every committee. She was named Member of the Year in 1993, 1997, 2006, 2012, and 2022. She has been a part of the Alabama Association of Legal Professionals (AALS) since 1991 and was named Member of the Year in 2013. In 2022, she received recognition for thirty years of membership in AALS.

Outside of her professional life, Deborah enjoys spending time with her family, riding four-wheelers, and going to the beach. Her favorite motto is, “Kindness changes everything.” A fun fact about Deborah is that she got married during a hurricane!
